.@ChrisSmalling insists people will forget about singing "Attack! Attack! Attack!" if @ManUtd can secure silverware. https://t.co/VBw0dqdvfz

The England international branded United fans naive over their “attack, attack, attack” chants, which have frequently been levelled at the goal-shy Red Devils in recent months.
Smalling, aged 25, is clearly quite content with Van Gaal’s patient, pragmatic and possession-based passing game – and he believes the fans will be too if it delivers silverware at the end of the season.
Smalling told BT Sport: “If we win a title or a cup or anything at the end of the season, I think they will have been naive with their ‘Attack! Attack! Attack!'”
You can understand Smalling feeling the need to spring to the defence of his manager and the team’s tactics, but calling your club’s supporters naive is risky business at the best of times.
