Les Bleus are back in action on Tuesday evening. In their bid to progress to the knockouts as Group D winners, France takes on Poland, who are sadly out of the tournament thanks to back-to-back defeats. Read on for our free France vs Poland predictions.

France vs Poland prediction

For the France vs Poland match prediction, we believe the final score will be 3-1 in favor of France based on our analysis.

The French stuttered against the Dutch but have more than enough offensive quality to overpower a Polish side that could make some headway but ultimately lacks any real defensive solidity.

Our France vs Poland predictions are as follows:

  • Piotr Zielinski Over 0.5 Shots on Target @ +200 with bet365

  • Piotr Zielinski to Score or Assist @ +300 with bet365

France vs Poland head-to-head statistics

The pair have previously met nine times, with the French picking up five wins. The Poles have only ever beaten France once. When the pair last met, back in 2022, the French won by three goals to one.

France vs Poland preview

This game is set to be played on 06/25/2024 at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM ET.

Many thought that the French would explode into life in Germany this summer. After all, they’ve got no shortage of exciting attacking players in a squad bursting at the seams with big-name players.

However, Didier Deschamps' men have been a little subdued. They beat Austria by just a single goal on matchday one, enduring a few tough moments on their way to collecting three points.

What’s more, they failed to find a route to goal for the second time in three games against the Dutch and were rather fortunate not to lose that game, having a typically inept English team of officials to thank for the point.

Of course, tournament football in the group stages is all about points on the board, and Les Bleus have that. Four points after two games means that there’s virtually no chance of them not going through, while they’re unlikely to lose this game against already-eliminated opposition.

For the Poles, the foray into German territory has been an unsuccessful one. Without their captain and leader Robert Lewandowski on matchday one, they put up a decent fight against the Dutch, but their efforts were ultimately for nothing.

Much the same can be said for their second game against Austria. Again, they fought well, kept themselves in the game for much of the contest, thanks in no small part to a well-taken goal from Krzysztof Piątek, but again, when push came to shove, they couldn’t quite get over the line, falling to not one, but two late goals.

Now, with a game to spare, Michal Probierz’s men know that they’re going home, but there’s still time for them to show that they’re no pushovers before they bow out.

France vs Poland betting picks

I’m going for two bets ahead of France vs Poland, both of which focus on a single Polish player.

Piotr Zielinski Over 0.5 Shots on Target

I know that the Poles are going home, but at the prices, I like the look of ‘Piotr Zielinski Over 0.5 Shots on Target’. For my money, given his quality and willingness to get forward and shoot, +200 is a generous price.

With the pressure off, Poland’s playmaker can be freed up to get forward and go for goal. After all, it’s not as if he was shy to get forward last time out, shooting six times.

Zielinski has also hit the target against both the Netherlands and Austria at this tournament, and with that in mind, odds of +200 for him to make the French keeper work at least once in this game look a little sizable.

Piotr Zielinski to Score or Assist

Everything that was good about Poland in that second game against Austria went through Piotr Zielinski, who in the absence of Lewandowski, wore the armband.

The Napoli midfielder was lively in possession, driving forward with the ball to good effect, while he created chances for his teammates, and tested the Austrian keeper.

If there were players in the Polish team not doing enough, Zielinski wasn’t one of them, especially in the first half.

With Lewandowski not fit again and likely to start here, Poland’s midfield maestro has a serious striker to get forward and support, someone he can play off and feed with purpose, so it would hardly be a surprise if he was to register an assist here.

Last season, the 30-year-old had his domestic campaign disrupted by a series of injuries, so he only contributed five goals and assists, making only a few starts, but in each of the three seasons prior to that campaign, Zielinski registered over ten goals and assists, contributing 11 in 2022/23, 11 in 2021/22, and 18 in 2020/21.

No stranger to producing the goods at a high level, against a French side that may not be at full strength and doesn’t really need to be fully on it to progress, Poland’s number 10 gets the nod to score or assist before his nation leaves the party early.
