The Czech Republic came close to getting a positive result on matchday one, leading against Portugal with just over 20 minutes left, while the Czechs were level heading into additional time. They suffered a late blow in their opening fixture, meaning they needed to beat Georgia on matchday two, which they did not.

They managed to secure a draw thanks to Patrick Schick’s back-post tap-in, but they nearly lost when the Georgians broke away (three vs. one) in the dying moments, only to miss a huge opportunity. That missed chance by Saba Lobjanidze could ultimately send the Czechs into the knockouts, though they’ll likely need a win here.

After matchday one, Turkey was flying high, but after a 3-0 defeat to Portugal, things didn't look as good for Vincenzo Montella’s men. They failed to put up a fight against Portugal, showing a lack of resistance at the back and a lack of end-product.

However, that defeat against Portugal may have been somewhat by design. Montella rested a couple of key offensive players, such as the very exciting and highly talented Arda Guler, who came on late in the game on matchday two after scoring a fantastic goal in the first round of games.

The Turks knew that their qualification to the knockouts wouldn’t depend on beating Portugal, so with Guler (and the lively Kenan Yildiz of Juventus) likely to return, don’t be surprised to see a better effort, especially offensively.

Tomas Soucek Over 0.5 Shots on Target

Czech captain Tomas Soucek is yet to register a shot on target at Euro 2024, but it probably won’t be long before the big man, who is known for popping up with a goal, tests an opposing keeper. Given that Soucek is far from an irregular shooter for his nation, odds of +150 look quite appealing.

Soucek averaged 2.25 shots per game during the qualifiers, shooting on target at an average of 0.62 times per game. While that average isn’t huge, it suggests he tests the keeper slightly more than every other game. Therefore, +150 is a price worth considering.

Arda Guler to Score or Assist

Another attractive bet is Arda Guler to make a significant contribution by scoring or assisting. At just 19, Guler is a crucial player for Turkey and arguably their most threatening attacker. He scored six goals in just ten appearances for Real Madrid last season, showcasing his talent.

We saw how dangerous Guler can be when he scored a superb strike from range against Georgia in the first game. He averaged 0.70 goals and assists per game for Fenerbahce before signing for Real Madrid, while in a Turkey shirt in 2024, Guler averages 0.50 goals and assists per game. Adam Hlozek to Score

Finally, consider Adam Hlozek as a scorer here. The Leverkusen forward looked very lively in the first half against Georgia, threatening on several occasions and having a goal disallowed. With Patrick Schick likely to miss out due to injury, Hlozek will play a significant role.

The Turks have shown defensive vulnerabilities, conceding a goal and several other chances against Georgia, which should give Hlozek hope. For Leverkusen last season, he averaged 0.60 expected goals (xG) per 90 minutes, scoring an average of 0.39 goals and shooting 3.58 times per game. With such a price available, I’m betting that he scores his first goal of the tournament here.
