Let’s be honest, it’s been anything but a pleasing season for a St. Louis City team that did so well last time around.

Now playing in Major League Soccer for their second season, the buzz has gone and there’s been a sense of crashing back down to earth for Bradley Carnell’s men. Carnell himself is now gone having been fired three weeks ago, leaving the team from CITYPARK to rebuild under interim boss John Hackworth, for now.

We can’t really say that things have improved since Carnell left, but Saturday’s hosts did at least pick up a point on the road last time out, which does give them a platform from which to build here.

The St. Louis boys also have a recent home win against the San Jose Earthquakes to draw upon, so we probably shouldn’t be too surprised if they get a result here.
