Galaxy’s position in the postseason has been secure for some time, and it’s fair to say that the regular season went well for the men from Dignity Health Sports Park, where Greg Vanney’s men delivered some fine performances, especially offensively.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t end the regular season with a win, meaning that they finished second, narrowly behind city rivals LAFC.
That final-day defeat also means that the hosts may not be as confident as they could be ahead of this game, but let’s face it, this is a team that has won seven games on the spin at home, so don’t be surprised if there’s plenty of optimism flying around the venue come kick off.

Sure, they struggled defensively away to Austin last time out, and they’ll likely find it hard to resist what should be plenty of home-team pressure in this game, but they made themselves heard offensively, scoring twice.
What’s more, Armas’ men have generally thrived offensively in games of this nature, with them scoring two or more away against FC Dallas, The Union, Real Salt Lake (twice) and Inter Miami. Better still, they scored twice when visiting Dignity Health Sports Park back in July.
Given the odds on offer and given that the hosts will quite happily leave themselves open to the break here, I’m betting on the Rapids to notch a couple of goals on Saturday evening.
