Brentford vs Leicester head-to-head statistics

The last time that Brentford and Leicester faced off, back in early 2023, the pair tied 1-1 at this venue, having tied 2-2 earlier in the same season.

Brentford vs Leicester preview

This game will take place on 30/11/2024 at Brentford Community Stadium. Kick off will be at 10:00 EST.

Last weekend, given that they found themselves down to ten just before the break, tying 0-0 away at Everton was far from the worst result for the Bees, who would probably have jumped at the chance to keep a rare clean sheet before the game began.

Thomas Frank’s men have now avoided defeat in each of their last two, winning when last in action on home soil, beating Bournemouth by three goals to two. That effort should fill the Bees with confidence ahead of a game against a Leicester side that has struggled massively at the back.

For the visitors, well, the season has gone poorly, as many expected it would. In the eyes of the powers that be, things got so bad that head coach Steve Cooper was relieved of his duties shortly after last week’s defeat to Chelsea.

The Foxes, who look all set to appoint former Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy as their new boss, have struggled to get back into the swing of things at the top level following their promotion from the Championship, and they come into this game off the back of a five-game winless run.

Can a managerial change help to bring about a turnaround in fortunes for a club that at present looks all set to return to the second tier with haste? We’ll soon find out.

Brentford vs Leicester picks

I’m siding with just one player prop as these two teams clash in West London.

Wilfred Ndidi Over 0.5 Shots on Target

In a betting sense, though the hosts ought to exploit Leicester’s weaknesses here, there looks to be some value to be had by betting on visiting midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to register a shot on target at odds of +320.

Very much the controller in Leicester’s midfield, with things not going particularly well this term, the experienced midfielder has taken it upon himself to get a bit higher up the pitch, providing four assists, shooting with more frequency than he has done in previous Premier League seasons.

To be honest, the Nigerian has changed his game a little this season, and he’s definitely shooting more regularly. He’s taken four shots in his last two games, registering two shots on target during that time. I like those stats.

For the season in general, Ndidi averages 0.46 shots on target per 90 minutes, which isn’t massive, but it does make odds of +320 look a little large, let’s be honest. Odds +320 imply a probability of 23.8%, which doesn’t look quite right given that Ndidi is hitting the target 46% of the time.

Quite honestly, the odds on offer are bigger than they probably should be, so any bettor seeking value ahead of this game should really get involved at odds +320.
