So far, so good for Arsenal over the festive period. The Gunners made it through to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup by beating Crystal Palace, who they then hammered in the EPL at the weekend, scoring five goals on their way to picking up a resounding win.

It must be said that Mikel Arteta’s men have done very little wrong in recent times, so much so that they are very much a sizable part of the title race. Sure, they’re in third right now, but they’re only six points shy of the league leaders and if they can continue to win with regularity, they’ll likely not be far away come the end of the season.

In contrast, the Tractor Boys seem less likely to achieve their goal, which is to beat the drop, but as things stand, the men from Portman Road are on their way back down.

A recent win against Wolves did breathe some life into Ipswich’s push for survival, but they couldn’t build on that win against Newcastle in front of a home crowd last weekend, losing by four goals to nil. That’s now four defeats in five games for the men that find themselves down in 19th position.

Arsenal to Win & Under 3.5 Goals

This is quite clearly a huge opportunity for the Gunners to continue pushing towards the top of the table, and it would be a massive surprise if the hosts did anything other than pick up maximum points.

However, we perhaps shouldn’t expect Arteta’s men to go crazy here. Let’s be real, the fixtures come thick and fast at this time of the year, so the hosts could absolutely do with taking it a little easy here. Fortunately for them, they could very likely play this game in third gear and still get the job done.

After all, we’ve seen Arsenal take the low-key approach more than once at home, keeping it super tight at the back, nullifying their opponents, scoring a few goals before seeing the game out in smart fashion.

In only one of their last five home games (in all competitions) have more than three goals been scored, with the hosts keeping a clean sheet in four of those. Another low-key (and relatively low-scoring) win could on the menu here.
