After clinging to what they had in rather unimpressive fashion during the first round of games, the Three Lions are back in action on Thursday. Can they make it two wins from two by beating the Danes? Read on for our Denmark vs England predictions.

Denmark vs England prediction

For the Denmark vs England match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 1-1 draw based on our analysis.

If England are intent on adopting a more cautious and leave-plenty-in-the-tank approach, much as they’ve always done under Southgate early on at tournaments, then they may struggle to get the better of a Danish side that is far from easy to conquer.

Denmark vs England head-to-head statistics

This will be the second European Championships in a row where Denmark and England have met. Back at Euro 2020, the pair played each other in the semi-final, drawing 1-1, before Harry Kane sealed the deal in extra-time.

Since their first meeting in 1956, these two teams have played each other a total of 15 times, with England winning seven and Denmark winning four.

Denmark vs England preview

This game will be played on 20/06/2024 at Deutsche Bank Park (Frankfurt). Kick off is set for 17:00 GMT.

From a results point of view, so far so good for England. They got the job done, picked up three points and kept a clean sheet in the process.

However, as has often been the case under Southgate, the performance was somewhat muted, as not for the first time, the Three Lions took the lead early but failed to ever really kick on.

We all know how such an approach turned out in that Wembley final against the Italians back at Euro 2020, and I think many fans were hoping that a more aggressive approach would be taken this time around.

Of course, it’s early days, so there’s lots of time for this England team to shift through the gears, though after that first effort, it’s probably fair to say that they’ll need to if they’ve got serious designs on winning the lot.

The Danes took a similar approach the first time around, though they didn’t quite get away with it, conceding late on to draw against Slovenia after Christian Eriksen gave them a first-half lead.

The men in red remain a tough side to beat, while they’ll likely enjoy being the underdogs here, much as they did when holding their own against England at Wembley in that Euro 2020 semi-final.

Denmark vs England Betting tips

To my value-seeking eyes, two bets appeal ahead of Denmark vs England. Here goes.

Both Teams to Score

I very much like the look of ‘Both Teams to Score’ at odds of 11/10 with bet365, which doesn’t quite look like an accurate reflection of the chances of both teams netting in this Group C fixture.

Despite not really firing on all cylinders against the Serbs, we know that this England team has the quality to score goals, while it’s not as if the Danes covered themselves in defensive glory against a Slovenian side that not only scored but created several openings.

However, little about England’s effort against a Serbian side that delivered a relatively timid offensive performance screamed defensive solidity.

The Danes can hurt teams and they can score goals, we saw that in warm-up games against Sweden and Norway, scoring five goals in those two matches, as they looked particularly threatening from crosses and set pieces.

Moreover, in Christian Eriksen, this Danish team has something that the Serbs did not, someone who can not only score from range, but who can unlock teams with top-tier creativity.

Both teams can hurt each other in this fixture and at odds of 11/10, it’s worth betting that they do by taking ‘Both Teams to Score’.

Christian Eriksen Over 0.5 Shots On Target

Rewind the clock back three years and Christian Eriksen’s life looked in severe danger, as he collapsed before laying motionless on the turf of Parken Stadium in Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland. There and then, any future at all, let alone a footballing one, looked slim.

Three years on and the talisman scored in his typical cool style to give Denmark the lead in their Euro 2024 opener against Slovenia, much to the delight of his teammates and swathes of Danish fans in the crowd at MHPArena.

Now entering the twilight of his career, with his Manchester United future in doubt, Eriksen remains a fine player, one who is very important to this Denmark team.

Against Slovenia, we saw that he’s not only their creative spark but also one of Denmark's chief goal threats.

Premier League fans know how dangerous Eriksen can be, especially from range, and to my eyes, he looks generously priced to register a shot on target here.

The Great Dane will absolutely relish the test of facing England, while he should enjoy the space likely afforded to a player of his nature as the Three Lions look to push for a more offensively adept performance.

At the height of his Spurs days, between 2015 and 2018, Eriksen averaged well over a shot on target per game, and while he may no longer have such an impact at club level, he’s still a huge player for this Denmark team, shooting 2.33 times per game in qualifying and 1.94 times per game in the UEFA Nations League.

In those competitions, he averaged an eye-catching 0.85 shots on target per 90 minutes, while we all saw that he's still a big threat when scoring against Slovenia last time out.

As far as I’m concerned, odds of 13/8 do not reflect just how much of a threat Erisken can be from a shooting point of view.

Recap - Denmark vs England betting tips

To recap, the two bets for Denmark vs England are as follows:

Both Teams to Score @ 11/10 with bet365

Christian Eriksen Over 0.5 Shots On Target @ 13/8 with bet365
