On Tuesday night, Group D will come to a close and there’s all to play for as far as both the Netherlands and Austria are concerned. Both could technically top this group, so we could be in for an interesting encounter in Berlin.

Netherlands vs Austria prediction

For the Netherlands vs Austria match prediction, we believe the final score will be 3-2 in favour of the Netherlands based on our analysis.

Both teams have shown plenty of attacking intent so far in Germany, so much so that both are likely to fancy themselves here. Expect a good game, but the Dutch may just have that extra bit of quality, which could see them through.

Netherlands vs Austria head-to-head statistics

The Netherlands have a fantastic recent record against the Austrians, winning each of the last six renewals of this fixture. The Austrians haven’t beaten the Dutch since 1984.

Netherlands vs Austria preview

This fixture will take place on 25/06/2024 at Olympiastadion (Berlin). Kick off will be at 17:00 GMT.

The Netherlands have made a pleasing start to life at Euro 2024, picking up four points from their first two games.

They could (and really should) be sitting very pretty on six points at this point. They've got a wrongly (as far as I'm concerned) disallowed goal to thank for that. It’s fair to say that English officials and VAR haven’t quite gelled, and that’s putting it nicely.

Anyway, the Dutch are well positioned to qualify and they’ll have designs on doing so as group winners with a victory over the Austrians, which is far from out of the question.

The Austrians, having lost to the French first time out, bounced back with a timely win over the Poles on match-day two.

After what was a decent effort against Les Bleus, there was reason for Ralf Rangnick’s men to be confident ahead of their second game and that confidence shone through as they took an early lead through unlikely goal-getter Gernot Trauner, who scored his first international goal since 2020.

Following their opening goal, the Poles crept back into the game, before levelling after half an hour, though in the second half, the Austrians came on strong, re-taking the lead through a superbly taken Christoph Baumgartner goal, before wily old Marko Arnautovic doubled the advantage from the spot.

You could argue that the Austrians beat Poland in a more convincing fashion than the Dutch did, so there’s definitely no reason why Das Team shouldn’t fancy themselves ahead of this clash.

Netherlands vs Austria Betting tips

As things get serious with this Group D closer, I’ve settled on just the one bet that stands out from a value point of view.

Over 3.0 Asian Goals

The Dutch could quite easily come into this game, shut up shop and play for a point, a point that would see them through, potentially as group winners, depending on what happens between France and Poland, but that’s not really their way.

This Netherlands team is set up to attack and they ought to fancy themselves to hurt an Austrian side that is yet to keep a clean sheet in Germany.

What’s more, the Austrians haven’t shown much fear since starting out against the French on match-day one, while the Dutch don’t look overly secure at the back, so we should also see Rangnick’s men be willing to get forward too.

With this in mind, coupled with the fact that neither side looks short of offensive talent, ‘Over 3.0 Asian Goals’ looks a little overpriced at odds of 11/8 with bet365.

Things tend to open up a bit more in the closing group games anyway, while everything about the way the pair have played so far points towards goals, goals and more goals.

After all, at least three goals have been scored in all but one of the Dutch’s last seven games, with more than three goals being scored in four of those.

Recap - Netherlands vs Austria betting tips

The only recommended bet ahead of this fixture is:

Over 3.0 Asian Goals @ 11/8 with bet365
