On Wednesday evening, things get serious in Group E. Every team has a realistic chance of coming out on top, while all four of those involved could also go out, so there’s lots to play for. Read on for our Ukraine vs Belgium predictions.

Ukraine vs Belgium prediction

For the Ukraine vs Belgium match prediction, we believe the final score will be 3-1 in favour of the Belgians based on our analysis.

The Ukrainians did improve on match-day two (marginally), but they’ve shown little to suggest that they can outscore a Belgium side that created an awful lot against Romania last time out, so even if they enjoy moments of promise in this game, expect them to be overpowered.

Ukraine vs Belgium preview

This match will take place on 26/06/2024 at MHP Arena in Stuttgart. Kick off will be at 17:00 GMT.

I think quite a few people, myself very much included, expected quite a lot from a Ukrainian side that seemingly boasts lots of quality on paper, but Serhiy Rebrov’s men failed to deliver the goods on match-day one in rather damning fashion.

They were well beaten by the Romanians, offering very little in the way of defensive solidity, whilst also not creating enough offensively.

On match-day two, things improved a little, especially offensively as they looked more menacing in attack, creating more and showing more end-product, eventually. However, cracks were still very much visible at the back, which is worrying.

The Ukrainians have kept themselves very much alive with that win over Slovakia, but they still look up against it in terms of qualifying. Getting something against Belgium seems like a big ask and if they lose here, even with three points, they’re probably going home.

For the Belgians, unlike during the first round of games, everything went according to plan against a Romanian side that they simply overpowered.

Domenico Tedesco’s men were very quick out the blocks, as was to be expected after that shock match-day one defeat, with less than two minutes on the clock before Youri Tielemans struck from the edge of the box to give the Red Devils the lead.

That goal was followed by numerous other Belgian chances, so much so that they should’ve been clear by half time. After more spurned opportunities, the second goal did arrive late in the second half, confirming what was a much easier win than the score-line suggests.

After that much better efforts, there’s no reason why Tedesco’s side cannot overpower another relatively weak defensive opponent and thus make it through as group winners.

Ukraine vs Belgium Betting tips

Ahead of this rather important Group E fixture, just one bet stands out at the early prices:

Belgium to Score Over 2.5 Goals

We’re yet to see the Belgians explode into goal-scoring life at this tournament, but they’ve certainly threatened to do so, creating plenty of openings in each of their matches.

To be honest, they could (and likely should) have scored five or six against the Romanians and for my money, this Ukraine side is probably the worst in the group in a defensive sense, so it would be absolutely no surprise to me if the floodgates opened for the Red Devils here.

We saw Romania dish out lots of pain against a Ukraine back-line that just wasn’t up to scratch on match-day one, while the Slovakians could easily have scored more too.

If we consider the fact that the Belgians have both stacks of creativity and firepower in their forward line-up in conjunction with the fact the men in yellow have looked very open and vulnerable at the back, it’s not too difficult to conclude that odds of 9/4 are a little on the generous side.

Recap - Ukraine vs Belgium betting tips
