For accumulator bettors, Saturday afternoons filled with Football League action is bliss, especially when there are loads of Championship games to choose from. This Saturday, we’ve got exactly that.
The fixture list looks particularly enticing this week, leaving us hopeful of picking out a viable accumulator that gives us a fighting chance of securing a tidy return. Read on for our Championship accumulator tips.
Accumulator tips for today
All of the games featured in this accumulator are due to take place on 24/08/2024 at 15:00 GMT.
There are three bets that appeal from the Championship games kicking off at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon, forming an accumulator that pays just over 5/1 with bet365. Let’s get into it.
Norwich vs Sheffield United - Over 2.5 Goals
One game that stands out massively from a goal-betting point of view in the Championship on Saturday afternoon is Norwich vs Sheffield United.
These two teams have both started the season in relatively strong scoring form, while both teams have got no shortage of firepower up top, so the crowd in attendance at Carrow Road may well be treated to a glut of goals.
The Blades have scored two or more in each of their three competitive games this season, conceding two or more in two of those.
Throw into the fire that the Canaries have scored two or more in two out of three, conceding two or more in three out of three, and ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ starts to stick out like a sore thumb, even at odds of 8/11.
Stoke vs West Brom - Both Teams to Score
The Potters are yet to be involved in a game where they score and concede this season, but don’t be too put off by that fact.
They struggled to keep things tight last weekend, which doesn’t bode too well ahead of a game against a Baggies’ team that was in solid scoring form before meeting Leeds last week.
Despite failing to score against the promotion favourites, the men in black and white created plenty, suggesting that in general, scoring goals won’t be a big issue for them this season.
The same can be said for Stoke, who scored against Coventry on match-day one, before notching twice in the EFL Cup after that. Yes, they drew a blank last weekend, but they’ve got enough about them to notch here.
Watford vs Derby - Watford to Win
As they take on Derby County in front of a home crowd, the Hornets are strong favourites, though I think you’d find it hard to argue if they were even stronger in the betting, which they may well be by the time things get underway at Vicarage Road.
Sure, I know Derby picked up a fantastic result last weekend, beating Middlesbrough by a goal to nil, but they rode their luck and did so with a home crowd behind them. On the road, against a rampant-looking Watford team, the Rams are likely to struggle.
The hosts have won each of their three competitive games, scoring bags of goals and they really do appear to have far too much firepower for a newly promoted team that will probably have a fight on their hands to stay in the division.
