On Saturday afternoon, the Bees are back in action on home soil, where they’ll be looking to sting a Wolves team that is akin to a wounded animal right now.
Can the hosts take advantage of facing an out-of-form side? Or will the visitors bounce back and make it three games without a win for Thomas Frank’s men? Read on for our Brentford vs Wolves predictions.
Brentford vs Wolves prediction
For the Brentford vs Wolves match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-2 draw based on our analysis.
Both teams have struggled to keep things tight of late, which doesn’t exactly bode well for either given the offensive quality of the opposition. There may not be much between the pair in West London, but there should be no shortage of goals scored.
Our Brentford vs Wolves predictions and tips are as follows:
Wolves to Score Over 1.5 Goals @ 7/4 with Boylesports
Over 3.5 Goals @ 19/10 with Boylesports

Brentford vs Wolves head-to-head statistics
When the teams last met, back in February, Brentford won by two goals to nil away from home. When they last faced off in London, they drew 1-1 (in the FA Cup), just one week after Wolves won by four goals to one in the league.
Brentford vs Wolves preview
This match will be played on 05/10/2024 at Brentford Community Stadium. Kick off will be at 15:00 GMT.
It’s been a tough few weeks for the Bees, who lost at the Etihad having gone a goal to the good early doors, only to repeat that trick away to Spurs, again scoring mega early through Bryan Mbeumo, a goal that wasn’t enough to put points on the board.
Thomas Frank’s men were a little more subdued at home to West Ham last weekend, but they again notched early, with live wire Mbeumo, scoring inside the first minute for the second game in a row. This time, the Bees avoided defeat, drawing 1-1. That effort does give them a platform from which to build.
Saturday’s visitors have also had quite a tough run, coming up against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Liverpool in quick succession.
Gary O’Neil’s men would’ve been hoping to pick up a couple of points from that trio of tricky fixtures, but instead they got nothing, losing by two goals to one against both Newcastle and Liverpool, losing 3-1 to Villa. Wolves’ English manager will undoubtedly be a little disappointed following those fixtures, especially given that his team took the lead in two out of three.
Brentford vs Wolves Betting tips
In the betting, two bets appeal ahead of this Premier League clash:
Wolves to Score Over 1.5 Goals
The visitors haven’t scored multiple goals in any of their last four league games, but I wouldn’t write them off here.
For starters, O’Neil’s men have scored in each of their last four, and it’s certainly not as if they’re short on offensive quality, with players like Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-Chan, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Jorgen Strand Larsen, all of whom can cause team lots of problems.
This is also a Wolves team that likes playing on the break, as we saw when they scored twice against Chelsea earlier in the campaign, and as they proved when scoring twice away to Brighton in the EFL Cup.
The hosts haven’t exactly covered themselves in defensive glory of late, and it’s also fair to say that they’ve struggled to guard against the break, especially at home, making odds of 7/4 on Wolves scoring two or more look a little generous.
Let’s face it, the Bees have offered little resistance at home, keeping zero clean sheets in three Premier League games in front of their own fans.
Despite not conceding more than once in either of those three, they’ve hardly prevented teams from creating, so it likely won’t be long before a visiting team notches multiple goals.
Over 3.5 Goals
For my money, both teams will have this fixture earmarked as one to go for, so we should see two teams going at it on Saturday afternoon, so don’t be surprised if both keep up their recent habit of being involved in goal-filled encounters.
We’ve seen four or more goals scored in three of Brentford’s last five, as well as in two of Wolves’ last three, with three or more goals being scored in eight of their last ten combined, making a high-scoring game look a little more likely than early odds suggest.
Both teams rank comfortably in the bottom half in terms of both shots conceded and shots on target conceded. In fact, for shots on target conceded, both rank in the bottom six. Both also rank in the bottom half for xG against.
