Despite scoring two goals at Stamford Bridge, the Brighton boys were well beaten by a rampant Chelsea team, or rather a rampant Chelsea player in Cole Palmer, who scored all four goals.
Following that defeat, the team managed by 31-year-old Fabian Hürzeler will be looking to bounce back, though a game against an in-form Spurs side isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered following such a hammering.
For Spurs and big Ange, it’s a case of needing more of the same following what was a resounding win at Old Trafford. From the first whistle last weekend, Spurs looked in rampant mood, brushing their opponents aside.
Having scored three goals against both Brentford and Manchester United recently, Postecoglou’s men will be searching for more offensive joy at Amex Stadium.
It’s worth noting that Spurs do have a Europa League engagement on Thursday evening. They’re due to play away against Hungarian side Ferencvaros, but several changes are expected, preventing that from being too much of a disruption.

Despite putting himself about, huffing and puffing, the forward drew a blank against Arsenal, but having notched his first goal of the season against Brentford recently, the man who scored regular goals for Bournemouth last season has started to come to life.
Spurs’ new focal point notched in the Europa League last Thursday, showing clever movement and goal-scoring instinct, before tapping home against United at the weekend, again showing a real poachers nous.
With three goals under his belt, and with Spurs’ creative players in strong form, Solanke looks set to do what he did last season and score goals on a regular basis.
Given what we’ve seen from the forward, Spurs in general and Brighton in a defensive sense of late, early odds of 7/4 look very user friendly. At such a price, the 27-year-old marksman is well worth betting on to score again.
