The Premier League is back on Saturday afternoon, and after Spurs and West Ham kick the weekend off in the 12:30 kick-off, it’s on to the cut and thrust of the 15:00 kick offs, which as we all know, are the Premier League bettors’ lifeblood.
From a betting point of view, our first port of call on Saturday afternoon is the game at Portman Road, where Ipswich and Leicester battle it out in what looks like something of a relegation tussle. Read on for our Ipswich vs Everton predictions.
Ipswich vs Everton prediction
For the Ipswich vs Everton match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-0 win for Ipswich based on our analysis.
The hosts have performed well at home and have perhaps been a bit unlucky not to pick up a win. They can get that win here against an Everton side that has struggled to create regular or clear-cut scoring chances away from home.
Our Ipswich vs Everton predictions:

Ipswich vs Everton preview
This match will be played on 19/10/2024 at Portman Road. Kick off will be at 15:00 GMT.
Back at the start of the season, many people (myself included), expected the Tractor Boys to whimper out of the top division, but after the first seven games, it looks as though the men from Portman Road have it within them to put up a serious fight.
During the early weeks of the campaign, Kieran McKenna’s men have been tough to beat. Sure, they lost to both Liverpool and Man City early doors, but they followed those defeats up by holding Fulham, Brighton, Southampton and Aston Villa to draws, and it’s not as if they didn’t outplay at least two of those teams.
OK, the trip to West Ham before the international break didn’t go too well, but I’m not going to let that result overshadow what has been a decent start for newbies.
A decent start is not what Everton made, not in the slightest. Sean Dyche’s men lost each of their first four Premier League matches, and even despite winning since, they still look like a team in trouble.
As was always going to be the case, creating chances and scoring goals is a problem for the Toffees, while they look anything but hard to create against, let’s be honest. Away from home, they’ve been a shambles, so don’t be surprised if the hosts do some real damage here.
Ipswich vs Everton Betting tips
Based on early prices, two bets appeal ahead of this Premier League clash:
Ipswich to Win
If this isn’t a huge opportunity for the hosts, who’ve absolutely performed with credit in recent weeks, to pick up their first win since returning to the Premier League, then I don’t know what is.
I’m not going to overreact to the fact that Ipswich lost at the London Stadium before the international break, nor am I going to give much credence to the recent positive results achieved by Saturday’s visitors.
Sure, the Toffees beat Palace at home in smash-and-grab fashion, while they held Newcastle to a draw last time out, again at Goodison Park. However, they didn’t impress in either of those games, while they had the luxury of playing at home. On the road, things have been very different.
While the hosts have looked strong at home, creating chances, scoring goals and more than holding their own against decent sides such as Aston Villa, Dyche’s men have looked woeful away from home.
Yes, they drew at Leicester in their most recent away game, but again, they created very little, which is a problem.
Looking at all metrics and having seen plenty of both teams in their respective home and away games, the hosts look much better, especially offensively, at home than the visitors do on the road, so much so that odds of 11/8 look a little generous.
As the table above suggests, I make the Ipswich win a little more likely than the early odds suggest, so betting on the Tractor Boys to pick up their first win of the season makes sense from a value point of view all the time odds of 11/8 is available.
Omari Hutchinson to Score
Scorer of 10 goals as the Tractor Boys won promotion last season, Omari Hutchinson is yet to find the net in the Premier League, but his first goal could be just around the corner.
The exciting forward/winger comes into this game fresh from scoring for England U21’s during the international break, which could quite easily prompt an improvement in domestic goal-scoring fortunes.
After all, he’s going up against a weak Everton back-line, one that has offered very little resilience on the road, so if the hosts can get on the front foot, as they have done in recent games, don’t be surprised if Hutchinson gets heavily involved. I certainly won’t be.
