It was very nice to land that 5/1 winner when last in action on Monday. Let's see what today brings. It’s Saturday once again and that means a decent day of horse racing on British shores, with meetings at Catterick, Stratford and Wolverhampton to get stuck into, while it’s Champions Day at Ascot.
From a betting angle, the final race on Champions Day at the prestigious venue of Ascot is one to attack. Read on for our free horse racing tips.

16:35 Ascot - Bopedro (each-way)
The final race on Champions Day is a highly valuable, big-field handicap, the sort of race that is ideal for those looking for some each-way value.
Bopedro may just offer us that each-way value. In fact, at odds of 10/1, I’m of the opinion that he’s a very solid each-way bet.
David O’Meara’s runner is no stranger to performing well in big handicaps, he’s done it time and time again. Far from a prolific winner, this is a horse that is a little frustrating, often coming with a strong run too late in the day.
However, he seems to have plenty in favour here, so I really wouldn’t be surprised if he goes close. The eight-year-old has dropped to a lenient rating, sitting 2 lb below his last winning mark, while based on his fast-finishing third over seven furlongs at this venue last time out, this step back up to a mile looks positive.
We know he loves soft ground, so that’s another tick in an important box, while the strong pace expected should absolutely suit him down to the ground.
Moreover, he went close in this very race last year, doing so from 6 lbs higher in the weights, which is not easy to ignore. O’Meara has likely aimed him at this race, while we’re talking about a trainer in decent form too.
Ranking right up there on speed ratings, the gelding simply ticks too many boxes for odds of 10/1 not to be considered slightly generous. I’ll be on each-way at those odds. Will you?
