For the Brentford vs Bournemouth match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-1 win for Bournemouth based on our analysis.

Brentford vs Bournemouth head-to-head statistics

Saturday’s hosts have a rather pleasing recent record in this fixture. When the pair last met, back in May, the Bees won by two goals to one away from home, while they’ve now avoided defeat in each of their last five against the Cherries, three of which they’ve won.

Brentford vs Bournemouth preview

This match will be played on 09/11/2024 at Brentford Community Stadium. Kick off will be at 15:00 GMT.

It looked for all to see that Thomas Frank’s men had completed something of a smash-and-grab job at Craven Cottage on Monday night, as they entered stoppage time a goal to the good, courtesy of Vitaly Janelt's thunderous first-half strike. However, Fulham's Harry Wilson, who came on as a late substitute, had other ideas, applying two deft finishes to wide moves that turned the game on its head.

Not for the first time, the Bees paid the price for some rather sloppy defensive play. Back on home soil, they’ll likely fancy themselves to do more in the final third, but even when playing in front of a home crowd, they’ve struggled at the back, which doesn’t exactly bode well ahead of the visit of an in-form Bournemouth team.

A team in hot form, the Cherries were clearly buoyed by positive results against Arsenal and Aston Villa ahead of their match against Manchester City last weekend, but even they probably didn’t expect to get the better of Pep Guardiola’s men.

Strong on and off the ball, quick in transition and dangerous in the final third, Andoni Iraola’s men have certainly looked the part in recent weeks, so much so that they’ll be feeling ultra confident ahead of Saturday’s trip to West London.

Brentford vs Bournemouth Betting tips

Looking at the early market ahead of this game, one team-based bet appeals most.

Bournemouth to Score Over 1.5 Goals

Given Brentford’s rather clear and obvious defensive problems, I cannot help but think that the Cherries are being ever so generously priced to score at least two goals in this fixture.

For the hosts, after Monday’s huge disappointment, this is a must-win game. Not only will they want a positive result, but they’ll want to put in a positive performance, which will mean getting more on the front foot than they did last time out. Such an approach could yield joy offensively, but at what price?

We know the Cherries are strong on the break, while they can also make the running to rather devastating effect too, as we saw against Southampton not that long ago.

When we also consider that the hosts have conceded two or more in four of their last five, including each of their last two (in the league) at home, it’s easy to feel that visiting goals are likely on Saturday.

It’s also worth noting that no Premier League team has conceded more shots than Brentford. Throw into the mix that Brentford find themselves in the bottom six for average expected goals against and average goals against and multiple goals for the Cherries look more likely than the early odds suggest.
