Another tricky day yesterday, with the Lucinda Russell pair fancied at Kelso not exactly delivering the goods. It’s a tough old game at times, but we move on to Sunday’s action.
There’s much less to get excited about today, with only two meetings at Sandown and Ffos Las on the menu. The final race at the former is interesting from a betting point of view. Read on for our free horse racing tips.

With this being a National Hunt Flat race, one where most of the runners have either raced just once or not at all under rules, there’s not a great deal to go on.
However, for my money, Youdecide, who goes for Ben Pauling, ticks a few too many boxes for odds of 15/2 not to be considered a little generous.
Not yet raced under rules, this horse joined Ben Pauling having won a point-to-point contest in Ireland back in February. He did the job well on that occasion, beating a horse that has since gone on to run well in a National Hunt Flat race at Chepstow, finishing second to a highly-rated odds-on shot trained by Paul Nicholls.
It’s positive to report that Ben Jones is in the saddle today as that particular rider has a very good record for Ben Pauling, winning on little more than 20% of his rides for the trainer. In fact, in 2024 thus far, Jones has won on 21.08% of his horses for Ben Pauling, delivering a win/place strike rate of 43.97%.
Moreover, not only does he have a decent record at Sandown, either winning or going close with nearly 50% of the horses that he’s sent to the Surrey venue in the last year, but Ben Pauling has a rather promising record with his National Hunt Flat horses in recent times.
In the last year, Pauling has saddled 44 NHF runners, winning with 12, placing with eight, delivering a win/place strike rate of 45.45%. Better still, in 2024 so far, Pauling has won with 34.38% of his NHF runners, delivering a win/place strike rate of 50%. These stats simply make odds of 15/2 look too big.
