The UEFA Nations League action continues to come thick and fast, so much so that there’s another handful of fixtures taking place on Saturday evening.
In League B, it’s the turn of Montenegro and Iceland, who’ll clash for the second time during the current campaign, meeting at Podgorica City Stadium. Read on for our Montenegro vs Iceland predictions and tips.
Montenegro vs Iceland prediction
For the Montenegro vs Iceland match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-2 draw based on our analysis.
The hosts were a little unlucky to lose their last home game against Wales, as they created plenty. If they can produce a similar effort against a weak-looking Icelandic back-line, they could easily score goals, but the trouble is, they too look weak at the back.
Our Montenegro vs Iceland predictions and betting tips are:
Nikola Krstovic to Score @ 3/1 with Betfred
Orri Oskarsson to Score @ 16/5 with Betfred

Montenegro vs Iceland head-to-head statistics
For the second time during this UEFA Nations League campaign, the pair will meet. Back in September, Iceland won by two goals to nil on home soil, courtesy of goals from Orri Oskarsson and Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson.
Montenegro vs Iceland preview
This match will be played on 16/11/2024 at Podgorica City Stadium. Kick off will be at 17:00 GMT.
It’s been an unsuccessful campaign for Saturday’s hosts, who look all set to, at the very least, battle it out for relegation. Unless things improve, starting with a win here, then they’ll almost certainly be dropping down into UEFA Nations League C.
Things began poorly with a 2-0 defeat in Iceland, and in terms of results, there’s been no improvement since, with Robert Prosinečki’s men losing each of their last three.
For the visitors, things haven’t been so bad. They may not have won since beating Montenegro on home soil back on match-day one, but they’ve certainly got competitive offensively and have generally put up a fight, even if they do look a little weak in defence.
They lost to the Turks last time out, but scored two goals in the process, so should fancy themselves to make headway at Podgorica City Stadium.
Montenegro vs Iceland Betting tips
Two player bets appeal ahead of Saturday’s clash in Podgorica.
Nikola Krstovic to Score
At odds of 3/1, Montenegro’s lively forward Nikola Krstovic looks somewhat generously priced to find the back of the net here.
The 24-year-old hasn’t scored for a while, not for club or country, with his last goal coming in Lecce’s Serie A draw with Parma back in late September, but this is a man who rarely shows a lack of hunger, while he’s never shot shy, so don’t be surprised if he soon gets back on the scoresheet.
Krstovic has taken 30 shots in his last five games for Lecce in Italy’s Serie A, showing a real directness that will likely lead to goals soon.
For his nation, the forward scored twice during the previous European Championships qualification campaign, while he’s gone close on several occasions during this Nations League stint, averaging an eye-catching 3.11 shots per 90 minutes.
At odds of 3/1, given Iceland’s clear lack of defensive strength, the man who averages 0.35 xG per 90 minutes in Serie A this season, is well worth betting on to end his drought.
Orri Oskarsson to Score
Also worth betting on to score at slightly bigger odds is Icelandic bright spark Orri Oskarsson, who after banging the goals in for FC Copenhagen in Denmark, earned a summer move to Spanish side Real Socieded.
Despite not yet nailing down a starting place in LaLiga, Oskarsson has been a threat when playing, scoring two league goals in just nine appearances, most of which have come from the bench late in games. The fact that he’s averaging 0.56 goals per 90 minutes in the Spanish top flight is a clear positive, as is the fact that he scored during his most recent start in the Europa League.
For Iceland, Oskarsson is rapidly becoming a key forward player, scoring last time out against Turkey, his second goal of this Nations League campaign. Prior to that, he looked very lively against Wales, getting into promising positions, shooting with regularity.
Given averages of 2.71 shots per 90 minutes (1.51 on target) and 0.60 goals per 90 minutes, odds of 16/5 really do look a little too user friendly.
