Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich head-to-head statistics

This will be the first meeting between the pair since 2019, when they drew 1-1 in the Championship. Also during that same season, Forest won by two goals to nil at this venue.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich preview

This match will be played on 30/11/2024 at City Ground. Kick off will be at 15:00 GMT.

The hosts come into this game off the back of a couple of bad results, but all is certainly not lost as far as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are concerned. Let’s be honest, the Tricky Trees are flying high seventh position, and there really isn’t much shame in losing to Arsenal and Newcastle.

In general, the Forest boys have been tough to face, defending well, whilst creating plenty in the final third at the same time. Now back on their own patch, they’ll absolutely fancy themselves to get the job done.

The hosts may not be the only ones feeling confident ahead of Saturday’s clash, though, as the Tractor Boys will arrive at City Ground in decent shape, drawing to Manchester United last time out, a game in which they were arguably the better team, while they picked up that excellent win away at Spurs prior to that.

Perhaps punching above their weight, Kieran McKenna’s men have shown that they’re capable of tussling with Premier League teams this season, so they’ll fancy themselves to make some headway in Nottingham, that’s for sure.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich Betting tips

Just one player bet stands out ahead of this fixture:

Leif Davis to Assist 1+ Goal

From a betting point of view, I really like the look of visiting full-back Leif Davis to provide an assist at slightly inflated odds of 11/2.

Athletic, hard-working, pacey and no stranger to getting forward, Davis has absolutely been one of the standout performers for Ipswich this season, bombing up and down on the left from start to finish in games.

View post on Twitter

Central to the way Mckenna wants his team to play, the 24-year-old is the only player to play every minute for the Tractor Boys in the Premier League this season, and it’s not difficult to see why. His attitude is fantastic, he puts a real shift in, while he always offers an out-ball on that left wing.

Moreover, Davis is an adept crosser of the ball, which has allowed Ipswich to create plenty of scoring opportunities. No Ipswich player has provided more passes that lead directly to a shot, while no player has provided more assists either.

Davis currently averages 0.20 expected assisted goals per 90 minutes, which is not bad. In other words, he ought to be picking up an assist 20% of the time. 20% translates to odds of 4/1 (=20% implied probability), making the available odds of 11/2 look rather chunky indeed.
