After the weekend’s action, it’s a quick turnaround for those in the Premier League. On Tuesday evening, Everton and Wolves will clash at Goodison Park, where both go in search of what can be described as a much-needed win.
Will the visitors bounce back after that home defeat? Or can the hosts pick up what would be a first win in six matches? Read on for our Everton vs Wolves predictions and tips.
Everton vs Wolves prediction
For the Everton vs Wolves match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 1-1 draw based on our analysis.
This is a match-up between teams with contrasting styles. While the visitors like to go all guns blazing, promoting end-to-end gameplay, the hosts are rather subdued and defensively minded, and if the Toffees do sit in, we could see a more low-scoring encounter than Wolves fans have been used to this season.

Everton vs Wolves preview
This match will be played on 04/12/2024 at Goodison Park. Kick off will be at 19:30 GMT.
As has now become the norm, the Toffees are struggling as we approach the Premier League festive period, and as a result, Goodison Park is likely to be low on joy.
Following what was absolutely a disappointing 0-0 draw against the ten men of Brentford, Sean Dyche’s players were unable to make any headway at Old Trafford, while they did little to stop their hosts creating and scoring, eventually going down by four goals to nil.
On a more positive note, thanks to what can only be described as a negative approach, Wednesday’s hosts are unbeaten in four home games, though they’ve only scored three goals during that time.
For the visitors, goal scoring hasn’t really been an issue, even away from home, where they’ve only failed to score once this season, and that was at the Emirates back in August.
What has been an issue is a complete lack of defensive solidity, and it was that lack of strength at the back that paved the way for yet another high-scoring defeat last time out.
In a weird way, this match at Goodison Park, where Everton’s strength is keeping things tight, may just be what Wolves need. Gary O’Neill’s men could absolutely do with a low-key game where they’ve got a chance of keeping a rare clean sheet, and this may just be that chance.
Everton vs Wolves Betting tips
In the early betting, I like the look of a low-scoring game.
Under 2.5 Goals
The visitors would almost certainly be happy to go toe-to-toe with the hosts, trading blows in an open, free-flowing game, which they’d surely fancy themselves to thrive in. Unfortunately for them, that’s not what the hosts want, not at all.
The Toffees lack the tools to really hurt teams, while in all honesty, they’ve shown little interest in opening up and playing, so it’s hard to see them being anything other than quite defensively minded in this fixture.
Let’s face it, onlookers at Goodison Park haven’t exactly been treated to many high-scoring games this season. Two of Everton’s last three at home have ended 0-0. The meat in that sandwich was a relatively drab 1-1 draw against Fulham.
Some other stats that make a low-scoring game appeal slightly more than the early odds suggest it might:
Everton and Wolves are both in the bottom four in terms of xG created.
Only one Premier League team has created fewer expected goals at home than Everton this season.
Only two Premier League teams have created fewer expected goals at home than Wolves this season.
On the road, Wolves average just 0.81 xG per 90 minutes.
At home, Everton average just 0.96 xG per 90 minutes.
As far as I’m concerned, there’s more than enough to suggest that goals could be at a premium at Goodison on Wednesday evening, more so than the early odds would have us believe.
