On Thursday night, as they look to get over the disappointment of another Premier League defeat, it’s back down to business in the Europa League for Tottenham, who’ll travel north of the border into Scotland, where they’ll take on Rangers at the famous venue of Ibrox.
For the last time in 2024, these two teams will play in UEFA competition. Read on for our Rangers vs Tottenham predictions and tips.
Rangers vs Tottenham prediction
For the Rangers vs Tottenham match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-2 draw based on our analysis.
If the visitors put out quite a strong team, then they’ve absolutely got the tools to do some damage, but they continue to have injury problems at the back, while they quite simply lack the defensive security to hold firm against a Rangers side that has been in decent scoring form of late, so expect goals all round.

Rangers vs Tottenham head-to-head statistics
This will be the first competitive meeting between the pair in recent times. Tottenham did beat Rangers in a pre-season friendly back in 2022, winning by two goals to one, though that clearly has no bearing whatsoever on this fixture.
Rangers vs Tottenham preview
This match will be played on 12/12/2024 at Ibrox in Glasgow. Kick off will be at 20:00 GMT.
This is a big game for Rangers. Not only does it represent an opportunity for them to seriously cement their position in the all-important top eight, but it presents the Glasgow side with an opportunity to prove that they can cut it against the big boys.
What’s more, given that they arrive in hot form, and with Spurs having struggled of late, now is likely the best time for Philippe Clement’s men to face the Londoners.
The hosts have certainly shown that they can compete in this competition, beating French side Nice away from home in convincing fashion last time out. With that win under their belts, they’ll fancy themselves to make headway here.
At the weekend, more pressure was heaped onto the shoulders of Ange Postecoglou, who thanks to his Celtic connection should get a rowdy reception at Ibrox. With Spurs continuing to leak goals on a regular basis, criticism over the Aussie’s tactics continues to fly in.
Thursday’s visitors will head to Glasgow having lost two on the spin, conceding five goals (and a whole host of chances) in the process, while they’re now without a win in four (in all competitions). Sunday’s game at Southampton is likely more of a must-win for Ange, but if his side tastes defeat in Scotland, then there really will be serious doubts over his future.
Rangers vs Tottenham Betting tips
One player bet appeals ahead of this fixture.
Vaclav Cerny to Score
In the early betting, I like the look of Vaclav Cerny to find the net for the hosts. The Czech winger/forward has been in promising form of late, scoring three goals in his last five appearances in all competitions, while he also has three in his last three Europa League matches.
A threat on the break, Cerny is also no stranger to cutting in and firing off fierce shots, so it would be little surprise if against what is likely to be a make-shift Spurs defence, a highly insecure one at that, the 27-year-old does some damage.
Cerny enjoyed himself away in Nice during the last round of UEL fixtures, scoring and registering three shots, while he now averages 0.76 goals per 90 minutes in this competition this season, as well as 4.32 shots per 90 minutes. Such numbers really do make odds of 3/1 look a bit too big.
