The new week once again begins with some Premier League action and just like last week, it’s the Hammers featured. This time, though, they won’t be in London. Instead, Julen Lopetgeui’s men face a trip to the south coast.
Can the Cherries extend their winning run in front of a home crowd at Vitality Stadium? Read on for our Bournemouth vs West Ham predictions and tips.
Bournemouth vs West Ham prediction
For the Bournemouth vs West Ham match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 3-1 win for the hosts based on our analysis.
Sure, the Hammers bounced back last time out, but they didn’t exactly create the best impression in doing so, while this is a much tougher task against a team that has thrived at home, especially offensively.
Our Bournemouth vs West Ham predictions and tips:
Marcus Tavernier to Score @ 5/2 with Betfred
Konstantinos Mavropanos 1+ Shot on Target @ 9/2 with Betfred

Bournemouth vs West Ham head-to-head statistics
This won’t be the first time that the pair have met this season. Back in August, they faced off in the EFL Cup, with the Hammers winning by a goal to nil at home. The last league meeting between these two produced a 1-1 draw, which is exactly what the score was when the pair last met at Vitality Stadium back in August 2023.
Bournemouth vs West Ham preview
This match will be played on 16/12/2024 at Vitality Stadium. Kick off will be at 20:00 GMT.
Julen Lopetegui was a manager under fire ahead of last Monday’s Premier League action, but thanks to a narrow win over fellow strugglers Wolves, the Spaniard will likely be afforded a little more time to get things right in East London.
However, the immediate future will quickly revert to looking rather bleak indeed if the Hammers get beat at Bournemouth on Monday night, which seems far from unlikely, especially as they’ve won only one of their last seven away games.
For the Spaniard in charge at the Vitality Stadium, the future looks very rosy indeed. Andoni Iraola has absolutely endeared himself to the Bournemouth faithful, who seem very happy with the work of both their manager and their team.
The Cherries will go into Monday’s game off the back of a turnaround win at Ipswich last time out, which followed a home win against Spurs. Monday’s hosts have now won three on the spin, while they’ve only lost two of their last eight, which is why they find themselves in a respectable eighth position.
Bournemouth vs West Ham Betting tips
Two player bets appeal as these two go head-to-head on the south coast.
Marcus Tavernier to Score
I was on Marcus Tavernier to notch away to Ipswich last weekend. Spoiler, he didn’t find the net. He also missed a huge opportunity, and I don't say that lightly. That said, unlike the tweeter shown below, I'll forgive him for that. More importantly, from a betting point of view, I’m not giving up on the English winger/forward, who has looked hungry for goals in recent weeks.
Let’s be honest, Tavernier probably should have scored more than just once this season, especially recently, but he’s a player who continues to look lively, while he’s been getting into some fantastic positions, so much so that his next goal looks just around the corner.
What I really liked about Tavernier is his directness, plus he’s been shooting plenty too, which is never a bad thing. He’s taken two or more shots in each of his last three, shooting a total of eight times during that spell.
In fact, for Bournemouth this term, only Antoine Semenyo has taken more shots than Marcus Tavernier, who averages 2.53 shots per 90 minutes. Throw in an average of 0.32 xG per 90 and ahead of what must be described as a leaky West Ham rearguard, he goes down as a decent ‘to Score’ bet at odds of 5/2.
Konstantinos Mavropanos 1+ Shot on Target
At odds of 9/2, I also like the look of Konstantinos Mavropanos to register a shot on target, and yes, I know he’s a central defender, but the Greek is a clear threat from corners, managing to get on the end of set pieces quite a lot this term.
In 12 Premier League appearances, Mavropanos has taken 11 shots this season, while he’s definitely been a threat of late, shooting at least twice in three of his last four.
The defender also averages 0.21 shots on target per 90 minutes. In other words, he’s hitting the target 21% of the time. Odds of 9/2 (=20% implied probability) thus look a little generous if you ask me.
