On Friday, the Premier League festive schedule continues with action at Amex Stadium, where Brighton and Brentford will lock horns.

The Seagulls will be hoping to fly a little higher than they have done in recent weeks, while the Bees will be looking to sting, which they haven’t done for a while. Read on for Brighton vs Brentford predictions and tips.

Brighton vs Brentford prediction

For the Brighton vs Brentford match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-2 draw based on our analysis.

The hosts can certainly score goals at home, but they’ve developed a habit of giving too much away, so don’t be surprised if there’s little between the teams in what could easily be a fairly high-scoring game.

Brighton vs Brentford head-to-head statistics

This will be the first time that the teams have met this season. When they last faced each other, back in April, they drew 0-0 in West London. When they last met at Amex Stadium, Brighton won by two goals to one.

Brighton vs Brentford preview

This match will be played on 27/12/2024 at Amex Stadium. Kick off will be at 19:30 GMT.

For the Seagulls, the festive period hasn’t been packed with joy. In fact, it’s been a bit miserable for Brighton fans, who’ve now gone five games without seeing their team win.

At the weekend, Fabian Hurzeler’s men drew away at West Ham, a result that followed what was definitely a displeasing home defeat to Crystal Palace. This is also a team that has one just one of the last five at home, so it’s not unfair to say that things need to pick up.

It’s been a similar story for Thomas Frank and Brentford. The Bees haven’t exactly been stinging teams of late, far from it. They’ve won just one of their last five and have now lost three on the bounce.

After what was an excellent home win against Newcastle, Frank’s men struggled to cope with the pressure applied by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, before losing to Newcastle in the EFL Cup, a defeat which preceded a loss at home to Nottingham Forest.

Brighton vs Brentford Betting tips

One bet catches the eye ahead of the south-coast clash:

Brentford to Score Over 1.5 Goals

Playing away from home has been anything but easy for the Bees this season. I mean, let’s be honest, the West Londoners have been rather appalling away from the comforts of home, winning none of their eight road games, losing seven of those eight.

However, this may just be an opportunity for Frank’s men to improve, at least offensively. The hosts have been very open, even at home, and I’m not entirely convinced that the early betting market reflects that accurately enough. In other words, ‘Brentford to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ is a bet that looks a little generously priced.

We know that Brighton will get forward at home, but at times their approach has been a little too cavalier, with them looking very easy to get at on the break. This should mean that the Bees fancy themselves to do some damage here. After all, with the likes of Wissa, Mbeumo and Schade, they’ve got no shortage of pace and power on the counter..

At the end of the day, the Seagulls are without a clean sheet at home since September, and they’ve conceded two or more in six out of eight since then. That makes odds of 13/8 worth taking if you ask me.
