2025’s first weekend of Premier League football is nearly upon us, and what better way for top-flight punters to kick the year off than with a juicy multiple bet?
Ahead of Saturday’s action, we’re back at it, searching for our fourth winning accumulator of the campaign. Read on for Sporting Post’s Premier League football accumulator tips.
Accumulator tips for today
All of the games featured in this accumulator are due to take place on 04/01/2025, with the first starting at 12:30 GMT, followed by the next two at 15:00 GMT.
Sporting Post’s first Premier League accumulator of 2025 consists of three selections, combining to form a treble that pays 47/1 with betway.
Tottenham vs Newcastle - Dejan Kulusevski to be Carded
We’ll start with the early kick-off, which puts together Tottenham and Newcastle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Dejan Kulusevksi looks a decent bet to be carded.
The Swedish winger/playmaker has enjoyed a fantastically fruitful season in front of goal, while he’s chipped in with plenty of fine creative play too, but he’s exactly averse to stepping beyond the rule either.
For starters, no Spurs player has made more Premier League fouls than Kulusevski during the current campaign. He’s averaging 1.73 fouls per 90 minutes.
The Spurs’ talisman hasn’t been booked since Spurs’ November clash with Roma in the Europa League, but that’s not for lack of trying. To be honest, I’d argue that he’s been quite lucky to avoid a card recently, making five fouls in his last two appearances.
Interestingly, when the teams met in the reverse fixture, Kulusevski made four fouls, and if he does something similar here, he’ll almost certainly be rewarded with his fourth card of the season.
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea - Will Hughes to be Carded
Moving on to Crystal Palace vs Chelsea and I cannot resist including Will Hughes here, who may just be a little generously priced.
Let’s face it, Hughes has been a serial offender this term, and I’m not quite sure that the early market reflects that accurately enough.
No Palace player has picked up more yellows than the 29-year-old, who has seven cards to his name already, averaging 0.57 cards per 90 minutes. That’s hard to ignore.
Hughes had managed to go six games without picking up a card, but he was back in the book last time out, making five fouls, while his record against the big teams doesn’t exactly suggest that he’ll have a quiet afternoon on Saturday.
This season, Hughes has been booked against Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool, Spurs and Aston Villa, and as part of this acca, I’m backing him to obtain some serious referee attention here.
Bournemouth vs Everton - Lewis Cook to be Carded
Lastly, it’s Bournemouth vs Everton. At odds of 3/1, Lewis Cook to go in the book rates as the perfect way to round this one off.
This season, only one Bournemouth player has made more fouls than Lewis Cook, who is averaging 1.87 fouls per game. He’s also picked up four yellows.
With a ban looming, Cook has been better behaved of late, but old habits die hard and all that, so it isn’t likely to be long before the midfielder is back in the book.
Given his overall profile, odds of 3/1 look quite sizable, so he’s in, meaning this player-card accumulator pays a chunky 47/1.
Recap - Premier League Accumulator tips for 17/08/2024
Here we go then, a player-focused three-leg multi bet ahead of 2025’s first full weekend of Premier League football:
Dejan Kulusevski to be Carded (Spurs vs Newcastle)
Will Hughes to be Carded (Crystal Palace vs Chelsea)
Lewis Cook to be Carded (Bournemouth vs Everton)
A three-fold accumulator made up of the above selections pays 47/1 with betway.
