After some top-flight midweek action, it’s back to the cut and thrust of Saturday/Sunday Premier League action.
On Saturday, for the second time in less than a week, fans at Gtech Community Stadium will see Brentford in action. Having hosted Man City on Tuesday, the Bees now welcome league leaders Liverpool to West London. Read on for our Brentford vs Liverpool predictions and tips.
Brentford vs Liverpool prediction
For the Brentford vs Liverpool match prediction, we believe the final score will be a 2-1 win for Liverpool based on our analysis.
The Bees did sting late in the day to steal a draw against the Citizens during the week, but they may struggle to get the same result against a Liverpool side that is better equipped to get the job done.

Brentford vs Liverpool head-to-head statistics
When the teams last met, at Anfield earlier in the season, Liverpool won by two goals to nil, picking up their fourth straight win over Brentford. The last time that the Bees got the job done against the Reds was back in 2023, when they won by three goals to one in front of a home crowd.
Brentford vs Liverpool preview
This match will be played on 18/01/2025 at Gtech Community Stadium. Kick off will be at 15:00 GMT.
Following their draw with Manchester United (in the league) and that defeat against Spurs (in the EFL Cup), Arne Slot’s men did bounce back with an easy win over lower-level opposition in the FA Cup at the weekend, but what they really wanted to do was resume winning ways in the league.
On Tuesday night, they went to take on their nearest pursuers Nottingham Forest, though there was to be no bounce-back for the league leaders, who staggered their way to a 1-1 draw, courtesy of a second-half equaliser from Diogo Jota, who cancelled Chris Wood’s early opener.
Tuesday’s result marked just one win from four games for the Reds, who remain in control in the title race, but they’re not looking as fluent as they were in November and December.
For Saturday’s hosts, all things considered, it was a pleasing midweek, with the Bees coming from behind to secure a point against Manchester City, a result that followed what was a disappointing FA Cup weekend.
We know that this Brentford team can mix it at home, so it wasn’t overly surprising to see Thomas Frank’s men hold the Citizens to a draw. After all, the Bees do have the second-best home record in the division, so we shouldn’t be shocked if they make life tough for Liverpool on Saturday.

I really am of the opinion that the market still isn’t reacting accurately enough to Wissa’s upsurge this season. The Bees forward, who made some club history during the week, has been in red-hot form, while he’s far from shy to shoot, even in the biggest games, regularly getting on the ball and going for goal. As far as I’m concerned, the early market ahead of this game doesn’t reflect this accurately enough.
Wissa is far from a forward who only bullies weaker teams, thriving on the break against City in the week, taking no less than five shots. The DR Congo man has been trying his luck with serious regularity in recent games, shooting no less than 18 times in his last four, two of which were against Arsenal and Man City. During that spell, he registered six shots on target.
In general this season, in the Premier League, Wissa averages 1.29 shots on target per 90 minutes, which is not easy to ignore. The man who has 11 league goals this campaign has also registered at least one shot on target in seven out of nine at home, hitting the target against Arsenal, Man City and Newcastle.
Given all the evidence, I’m standing firm in my belief that odds of 8/11 for the forward to call Alisson into action at least once on Saturday afternoon.
