This week, the Premier League games come thick and fast, with the action bleeding over into Thursday, when West Ham and Leicester will get down to business at London Stadium, where the Foxes won on their last visit (2022).
Two teams coming off the back of contrasting weekends will meet here, with the Hammers flying high after that win at Arsenal, while the Foxes once again failed to scavenge any points, losing heavily at home, not for the first time this season. Can the visitors now collect points for the first time in five matches? Read on for West Ham vs Leicester player betting tips.
West Ham vs Leicester player betting tips
This game takes place on 27/02/2025 at London Stadium. Kick off will be at 20:00 GMT.
Looking at the early odds, from a value point of view, three player bets appeal ahead of Thursday’s game at London Stadium.
Wilfred Ndidi to be Booked
For a midfielder destroyer, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has done a rather good job of avoiding getting booked this season, picking up only four yellows, but he’s certainly due one, while it must be said that he’s benefitted from some daily lenient refereeing at times, and he may not get that from Stuart Atwell, who comes into this game having shown plenty of cards in recent weeks.
Even with him being let off a few times this season, the Nigerian averages 0.26 cards per 90 minutes, while he comes into this game having made multiple fouls in two of his last three.
Going up against a Hammers side on the up after that big win at Arsenal, this will be a tricky game for the Foxes, who are now very much up against it and struggling, do don’t be surprised if Wilfred Ndidi finds himself letting frustration get the better of him in the middle of the park.
Given the difficulty of this fixture and the fact that they’re seemingly fighting a losing relegation battle, odds of 3/1 look a bit chunky, especially given that Ndidi has made more fouls than any other Leicester player this season.
Bilal El Khannouss to be Booked
Far from a destructive presence life Ndidi, youngster Bilal El Khannous has been one of Leicester’s more promising creative players in recent weeks, but the Moroccan is not unfamiliar with make cheap fouls, so he too looks a little generously priced to go in the book at odds of 5/1.
The 20-year-old comes into this fixture having recently been booked against Arsenal, while he’s given away five fouls in his last four appearances. He also has a habit of making multiple fouls in games of this nature, committing two fouls against West Ham earlier in the season, making two or more fouls against Man United, Aston Villa, Man City and Chelsea too.
As mentioned when talking about Ndidi above, Stuart Atwell is in charge of this fixture and he’s not exactly been letting loads go in recent games, dishing out 20 cards in his last three fixtures.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Assist a Goal
At 10/1 (Betfred), I also cannot help but back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to get an assist for the hosts. Not only did the full back deliver his second assist of the season against Arsenal at the weekend, but in a game where the visitors are likely to get men behind the ball, crosses from out wide will be a key part of West Ham’s approach, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if Wan-Bissaka created a few chances here.
Two assists at this stage of the season isn’t an amazing total, though the full-back could probably have had a few more, especially as he ranks as West Ham’s best performer in terms of crosses and progressive passes.
Moreover, the former Man United man is West Ham’s third best player in terms of key passes (= passes leading directly to a shot) behind Bowen and the injured Paqueta, while only two home-team players have outperformed him in terms of final-third passes too.
Fresh off the back of providing for a scorer at the weekend, given the other positive stats, Wan-Bissaka really does look generously priced.
