UEFA Nations League player betting tips
The games featured in this article all take place on 23/03/2025. Kicks off will either be at 17:00 GMT or 19:45 GMT.
Slovenia vs Slovakia - Benjamin Sesko to Score
Up-and-comer Benjamin Sesko has been in terrific scoring form for the Slovenians in the UEFA Nations League in recent times, so much so that he rates as an excellent bet to score against a Slovakian side that hasn’t been too secure at the back on the road.
It’s been a bit of a breakthrough campaign for the young RB Leipzig forward, who impressed at Euro 2024 despite not finding the net and who has scored 22 goals for club and country since the start of the 2024/25 season.
Home games in this competition have treated the 21-year-old particularly well, with him scoring five goals in three games on Slovenian soil.
Sure, he didn’t net in the first leg, but back in front of a home crowd, the man who has taken no less than 13 shots in three home games, hitting the target with then of those, simply looks generously priced to find the net here.
Slovenia vs Slovakia - Benjamin Sesko to Score Two or More
Similarly, the young forward looks a decent bet to score multiple goals here. The Slovakians aren’t strong at the back, especially on the road, while Sesko has looked to shoot with fantastic regularity in this competition, averaging 3.61 shots per 90 minutes, while he’s fired off 18 shots in his last five appearances for club and country.
We know that Sesko is shooting loads on home soil, and we know that he’s thriving in front of goal this season, scoring eight goals for Leipzig since the middle of December.
He’s twice scored multiple goals at club level this term, including in the UEFA Champions League against Juventus, while he scored a hat-trick at home for Slovenia during the UNL league phase.
As far as I’m concerned, 14/1 is just too big for a player that has shown a tremendous hunger to score goals this term, both for his club and nation.
France vs Croatia - Ivan Perisic to Receive a Card
As France and Croatia battle it out for a place in the final four of the competition, veteran all-rounder Ivan Perisic looks a decent bet to go in the book.
At 36, Perisic remains a very useful and reliable player for the Croats, and having delivered a promising performance in the first leg, the veteran is expected to start this game in Paris.
He’s an important player and his experience is valuable, sure, but we’re talking about a player that no longer has the speed of old, even if his stamina and ability to fight for everything remains impressive.
With the French pushing forward to try and turn this one around, the Croats will likely be defending for large portions of this game, so Perisic is going to be under heavy fire.
With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele running at him, it will be no surprise if the man with 141 Croatia caps goes into the book here. After all, he’s made multiple fouls in three of his last four matches for club and country, including against France in the first leg, while he’s got one booking in three Nations League starts this campaign.
