Saturday’s biggest and most significant Premier League fixture will take place at Portman Road, a ground that a few days ago looked all set to host Championship football next season, but after a seemingly unlikely win against Bournemouth during the week, Ipswich just about remain in the hunt for survival.

If the Tractor Boys can beat Wolves in front of a home crowd on Saturday afternoon, then they’ll be only six points adrift, which with seven games to go, is not a gap that is unbridgeable. Can the hosts get the job done and stay alive? Or will the visitors put the final nail in their coffin? Read on for our Ipswich vs Wolves betting tips and best value bets.

Ipswich vs Wolves value betting tips

This game takes place on 06/04/2025 at Portman Road. Kick off will be at 15:00 GMT.

Over 2.5 Goals

This game has been priced up as if a relatively high-scoring game is unlikely, but I just can’t agree with that. Let’s have it right, the hosts need to win. They can’t play it safe, at least not for 90 minutes, so we can expect them to get forward and open things up, which should promote a game not devoid of scoring opportunities.

Moreover, it’s not as if the hosts have made a habit of being involved in low-scoring games of late. Three goals were scored in their match on the south coast on Wednesday evening, while four of their last five league games have contained three or more goals, with five or more being scored in three of those.

When the pair met earlier in the season, they shared three goals. For my money, the chances of a repeat are greater than the early odds would have us believe. In other words, there’s value on offer for those who seek it.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde to Assist 1+ Goal

When Matheus Cunha foolishly got himself sent off against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, lashing out in the style of a true hot-headed South American star, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was always going to be called on to step up.

The Frenchman has definitely stepped up in Cunha’s absence, contributing three timely assists, two of which have turned out to be match-winning contributions.

It’s taken a while for Bellegarde to settle this season, but with a run of games now under his belt, the winger/forward is thriving, especially in a creative sense. He’s registered four assists in his last six Premier League games, giving him a total of six assists for the season.

Bellegarde currently averages a chunky 0.39 assists per 90 minutes in the Premier League, which really is hard to ignore. It’s also tough to ignore the fact that the 26-year-old ranks as Wolves’ third-best player for key passes (= passes leading directly to a shot), especially as he’s played considerably less than the two players above him.

Quite frankly, there’s lots of evidence that points towards Wolves’ key creator being no 5/1 shot to register an assist on Saturday. He should be priced considerably shorter, as the table below suggests.

Recap - Ipswich vs Wolves best value bets

The table below shows the odds available for our value betting tips at the time of writing, as well as what I consider to be fair odds for these selections. It’s important to note that to take value, you should be taking odds that are bigger than the fair odds. If bigger odds are not available, then there’s no value, which means no bet.
