Sunday’s Premier League action concludes with a match at St. James’ Park, where Newcastle and Man United will go head-to-head in a game that the visitors could likely do without.

Following their UEFA Europa League draw in France on Thursday night, the Red Devils will likely be looking ahead to the second leg, which takes place just four days after this game, which may mean that the hosts get a rather easy time of it in front of their own fans. Read on for our Newcastle vs Man United bet builder tips.

This match will be played on 13/04/2025 at St. James’ Park. Kick off will be at 16:30 GMT.

As two teams with quite different objectives at this stage of the season clash in the North East, three bets appeal, combining to make a bet builder that pays 11/1 with Betfred. Let’s get stuck in.

Joelinton 1+ Shots on Target

Kicking this bet builder off, one of Newcastle’s main men looks a decent bet to register a shot on target, much as he did when the pair met in the reverse fixture, with Joelinton scoring in the Magpies’ win at Old Trafford back in late December.

This term, the Brazilian hasn’t been overly prolific in terms of direct goal contributions, providing just five goals and assists, but he continues to be an important cog in Eddie Howe’s machine, while he’s not exactly unfamiliar with getting forward and firing off shots.

Only two Newcastle players have taken more shots than Joelinton this season, with the 28-year-old averaging 1.79 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. As mentioned above, he hit the target in the reverse fixture, while he comes into this game having registered a shot on target against both Leicester and Brentford recently.

Moreover, he likes to shoot in the big games, shooting three times against Liverpool, five times against Aston Villa, twice away to United, and twice against Man City. Against three of those four teams, he managed to hit the target at least once.

Kobbie Mainoo to Receive a Card

Kobbie Mainoo’s season has been hit by injury, meaning that the hugely promising young midfielder hasn’t played as much as neither he nor United fans would’ve liked. When he has played, he’s offered lots, though he’s made plenty of fouls, averaging 1.54 fouls per 90 minutes in the Premier League.

Showing a little rust when coming off the bench, Mainoo picked up a card against Lyon in the Europa League in the week, and as he needs minutes, I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts this game. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he gets booked again. After all, this is a man that has been shown five yellows in the league this season, despite limited minutes, averaging a hard-to-ignore 0.34 cards per 90 minutes.

Alejandro Garnacho 1+ Shots on Target

Rounding things off, we’ll go with the lively but often unproductive Alejandro Garnacho to register a shot on target for the visitors. The Argentine continues to divide opinion. On the one hand, he offers a direct approach, while he certainly plays with a hunger for goals and assists.

Unfortunately, in terms of tangible goal contributions, the youngster flatters to deceive a little, though we can’t ignore the fact that he’s willing to shoot an awful lot. Garnacho averages a promising 3.46 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season, registering a very decent 1.23 on target per 90 too. Regardless of his lack of tangibles, that’s an eye-catching stat.

With the 20-year-old having taken multiple shots in each of his last four league games, hitting the target three times during that time, he looks a viable bet to make the Newcastle keeper work at least once on Sunday.
