A new weekend of Premier League football begins on Saturday lunchtime, when Chelsea and Everton will clash at Stamford Bridge.
For the first time in a few years, the Toffees can enjoy a pressure-free last few games of the campaign, which will perhaps allow them to pick up a few pleasing results. For the Blues, it’s all about securing a top-five place, meaning that they have plenty of work left to carry out over the coming weeks. Read on for our Chelsea vs Everton player betting tips.
Chelsea vs Everton player betting tips
This game takes place on 26/04/2025 at Stamford Bridge. Kick off will be at 12:30 GMT.
Ahead of Saturday’s early kick-off, two players appeal, both of which involve home players to display less than good behaviour. Here goes.
Moises Caicedo to Receive a Card
When it comes to stepping outside of the roles, few Premier League players have excelled as much as Moises Caicedo, who in terms of sheer fouls, is currently the fourth most prolific EPL player.
Only one of the top five foulers has more cards than Caicedo, and in fairness, that’s Will Hughes, who this season has refined his game to become a yellow card machine, churning out bookings for fun.
So far in the Premier League this term, Caicedo has picked up ten bookings, averaging 0.31 cards per 90 minutes. With Chelsea now desperate to finish in the top five, the Colombian, who averages 1.86 fouls per 90 minutes, ramped things up from a tackling point of view last weekend, making three fouls against Fulham, getting his name taken by the referee.
Against a side that can play with more freedom and less pressure than the hosts, a side that won’t mind frustrating, the hosts probably won’t stroll to victory on Saturday, meaning that Caicedo will likely have to get stuck in. Given what we know about his game and the situation here, odds of 12/5 look a little on the large side.
Enzo Fernandes to Receive a Card
The only Chelsea player to make more fouls than Fernandes this season is the man mentioned above. Often alongside Caicedo, the Argentinian World Cup winner makes more than his fair share of fouls, while he’s not exactly unfamiliar with receiving a ticking off from the referee.
In the Premier League this season, Fernandes has been booked seven times, while he’s received a yellow in two of his last five starts for club and country. Since the turn of the year, for both the Brazilian national team and Chelsea, in all competitions, Fernandes has picked up five cards, averaging a chunky 0.36 cards per 90 minutes.
In big games, Fernandes has been very active in terms of fouls, and this is very much a big game for the Blues. Enzo Maresca’s men have a serious battle to finish in the all-important top five, so the pressure is on here. When the pressure is on, Chelsea’s number eight is usually one of the first to turn up the heat with his tackles, so I really won’t be surprised if he gets booked here, and all the time odds of 3/1 are on offer, that’s exactly what I'll be backing him to do.
